Hey guys! Today at Enrich was #SHAMAZING!
We have had a awesome day and one part of my day was so special! Singing 201 with Nicola-la. I have got a solo in We Wish You A Merry Christmas. So does Mia! I have also got a 4 bar ballet dance in Deck the halls. I am really excited and confident we are going to get lots of peoples attention! Here is another Pic Collage I made. <----

Tuesday 5 November 2013

I have just witnessed a very important video.
Internet safety is the key. For those who have an account on anything, be safe with it and do not press remember me. To see this video, go on to YouTube and type in digital dossier. You will be amazed. Be careful with what you are doing. Here is something to wow your day- everything you go onto or post on Facebook or a blogger etc can never be removed. It is there forever, even if you remove it someone could easily copy it before you remove it and email it to someone and then they will forward it on. It will go forever.
I thought that would be a little tip for you.
Have a look at this picture I made on Pic Collage. So true, eh?
Bye, Anna.

Hello Bloggers!
YAY! I'm back! I missed you guys! Today at Enrich (so far) has been so fun! We started off the fab day with our session of chess. Grace challenged me and she won =(
I'm second from the bottom but at the bottom is Tessa. The most challenging part of my day has been learning the christmas medley for Singing 201 with Nicola-la. We have to learn lots of different christmas carols, in one big piece, and then we have to sing Burn by Ellie Goulding for the year 6 people- who are leaving ( gonna miss you JoJo). Anyway, singing 201 is still so fun! Heres a fact- singing 101 would be for beginners but singing 201 means an experienced singer. I can't wait until this afternoon- we are doing the rotation. I'm with Nicola in word patterns, doing our crossword. In the crossword it has over 45 words! IT IS SO HARD!

Dedicated to Nicola

Hello Blog Readers!
Today at Enrich was AMAZAYN! The spectacular day started off with doing our gifted person study. I carried on with Rowena Jackson on Prezi. Sadly, today is the last day of the term. AND it is the last session of Music and Performance for the rest of the year! But, next term we get to do a passion project- whatever we like! I have a few ideas of what I might do. But the thing that has the strongest vote is getting together with Mia and Tessa and making a album of garageband songs and make 4 copies. One for Mia, Tessa, Enrich, and I. Dedicated to Nicola.
Well, see ya next term, Enrich.
Bye, Lots of Love, Anna :) :(

More, More, and More!

Hello Blog readers!
Today at Enrich was amazing! In the afternoon when we went into music and performance, we learnt more of the dance we are doing to "Let Me Entertain You" by Robbie Williams. Finally we have finished it! Last week we only learnt the chorus. Today we learnt the rest! Including the verses and the ending! The thing that you really need to be a good dancer is to have attitude and to be cheeky and funny. I hope I did that well today!

Hello Blog Readers!
Today Enrich was so awesome!
After morning tea, we went into our passion time/talent development groups. In music and performance, we learnt a new song called "Some Things Are Meant to Be" from the musical Little Women. There are two girl soloists. We also had to get a photo shoot picture done! We had to stand in front of a brick wall and look like pros! It was so funny and cool.
Adios,
Anna
P.S and as soon as I have got my picture ready to go I will put it in with the next post =)

Hello Blog readers!

Sorry I didn't get to do a post last week because we ran out of time =(
Anyway, today was awesome! Darryn and Nicola were not here today so Jenni filled in for Nicola and Jane filled in for Darryn.
In music and performance today we got to make a song on GarageBand for about half an hour, then we listened to each others songs. All of them were really cool and random! Mine started off with a very simple bongo beat and then it went into bongos and a banjo beat. After that, there was a short pause. Then there was a different banjo beat with bongos, the starting banjos with the bongo beat then just bongos. See the pattern? It sounds really confusing but when you read it over and over you will start to get the pattern in your head and get your head around it.
At the start before we went on GarageBand, I had no idea how to use it at all. I couldn't even get one piece of music or a beat on it! I have now learnt how to use it! I know how to put beats, strums, effects and lots more on it! I recommend using GarageBand for slideshows because it really is fun and funny, and pretty much amazing. I have enjoyed having music and performance with Jenni today. She is really fun and funny =)

Anna ;)

Are all impossible things possible?

This afternoon, we got into our rotation groups. Katie lined us up in one big line down the floor and told us where to go for either P4C or debating. Katura, Liam, Matt , Samantha, Luca, Grace, Brianna and I went into P4C and all of the other people went to debating. Oh, yeah, and the newspaper kids went and did the newspaper with Nicola. In P4C today, we talked about impossible and possible things. The question was "Are all impossible things well, possible?" To me, yes they are. Think back 100 years ago, when some people thought " NA! There can not be anything that drives people around! See?! They thought what is possible was impossible. Now think 100 years on, who knows what is going to happen?! Maybe they will invent flying pants or an iPad 20? We just don't know. I have learnt that if you imagine, it can always be possible.

Funny And Icky!

Hello blog readers!

Today at Enrich was funny and icky! To start off the fabulous morning, we played a game of chess. I challenged Mia, then Grace. I lost both of the games =(. I have to admit, I'm terrible at chess.

After play, we got into our groups for the teacher led workshops. Have I told you I'm in science? Well, I am. We were doing some experiments with dry ice.   The dry ice was minus 80 degrees!!!

My favorite experiment we did was when we got a big beer glass and filled it with water, then got some food colouring and put some of that into the water, put some dry ice and dishwashing liquid and Voila! You have your masterpiece. Mine came out as green puffy bubbles! Make sure you DON"T touch the dry ice. (You can touch the bubbles with your bare hands though.)

WARNING: 1. Wear a glove on whatever hand you will be using to put the dry ice into your glass. 2. Wear safety glasses. If you already do have glasses then you don't need to put safety glasses on.

Anna =D

Hello blog readers!
This morning has been a blast!
Today in music and performance we carried on with our monologues. We got an hour to rehearse. We also used Nicola's costumes and had a dress rehearsal! For my Disneyland monologue I am playing a 13 year old girl who has those huge glasses with a flower lei around my neck and a huge orange sequin bow! Basically I am a goofy gal. Nicola has made some amazing changes to the costume corner... she bought  LOTS of new costumes! Including police hats, clown wigs, goofy glasses, ties and bows, skirts and dresses, masks, scarfs... and even a santa beard!
We are performing our monologues to our other mates in performance next week so I'd better get rehearsing!
See ya, Anna =)

Taking your parents to Disneyland.

" Hello. I would like to take a moment to explain to you the dangers of taking your parents to Disneyland".
Oh, am I writing a blog post? I'll explain what all of that was about. In music and performance group today Nicola introduced us to something different and something we might not of heard of. It is called a monologue. Have you ever heard of it? Well, it's when you learn about two or three paragraphs of speech that you have to learn off by heart. We have to learn ours in two weeks. I learnt mine sort-of off-by-heart. We have a sheet in our workbook and we have another copy that we get to take home. As you may of heard at the top of this page there is a sentence. That sentence is part of my monologue. It is about the dangers of taking your parents to Disneyland. My friend Mia is doing an Alice In Wonderland one and my other friend Tessa is doing one about a tooth fairy.
Well that is my blog post for today.
Bye, Adios,
Anna =)

Naughty Nicola!

                      Hello Blog Readers!

Did you know that Nicola has been naughty today? NAH! She has just been having some fun with us! Did I trick you? Well, in performance today we learnt a new warmup and it is called Big Bootie. We went over a few songs and then at the end, that was when we started to go crazy. Nicola had these big and poofy petticoats so some girls could do the cancan in them for our performances. Nicola said we should put all the peticoats on her plus a hat. So we put a yellow one on the bottom, a pink one next, then a green and then a red. Mia had the hat on and we were trying to get the white one on. Then Nicola powered up an idea. She put the white peticoat on the hat to make it look like a wedding veil! OMG it was so funny!

Thank you for reading my blog today!

Like an Eagle!

Hello blog readers!
Sorry about the delay last week! I wasn't here! I was sick last week so I couldn't come to Enrich :( I was so so sad especially missing out on a blog post! Anyway I will tell you what we did in music and performance today. We had a new teacher that was taking Nicola's place for this session. Her name is Amanda. Tessa, Mia and I go to the same school and we are basically best friends (at Enrich) and we are in music and performance group together. We already knew Amanda because she sometimes teaches at our school in the room next to us. Right. We started off with doing a warmup and it is the "You" game. You need about eight people. Someone starts off with saying you quietly then you get louder and louder and then you get quieter and quieter and you eventually fade away. We learnt a new song called "Like An Eagle". It is really really cool. I am better at getting the words into my head. We went over a few other songs and we were finished.
Thanks for reading my blog post!

Custom Glitter Text

A NEW subject. Performing a song.  I went into my tote-tray and got out my book and got a pen. I nervously trotted over to the table where Nicola was sitting. We got ready for the warmups. Nicola played her keyboard. She played her famous "What Should We Do?" song. We started to clap in the beat of different songs. We also did some jumping beans warmups. I jumped up and down thinking "Such fun" and then we had to go all the way to the stage and back. I was huffing and puffing. What a great day.
(Applause) Thank you, thank you very much. Enjoyed my story folks? Well Good then! Oh, I just forgot. It is the last day of Enrich. Booooohoooooo :( I am really sad that it is the last day. Anyway, I'll be coming back next term. I have one more challenge for the day- singing for Nicola and seeing if I am going to get into the music and performance group. Anyway, I want to say a massive thank-you to my followers, the people who read my blog. Thank-you so much! See me next term for some more fun!
Bye, Anna.

Hello everyone!
Today at Enrich was a blast!
We started off the fabulous day with passion time (one of my favorite subjects at Enrich!)
Have I told you that I am doing a mosaic for passion time? Well I am. We started to work on doing our passion projects/ talent development projects this morning.
My mosaic is probably going to be a love heart to give to my Mum and Dad as a present for nothing. But I love them so it's all good! I am a very arty person as you might of heard.
I am going to do a red love heart with a blue background. I might be getting some one to come in and help me with the project. It is going to be a pro mosaic artist by the way.
I am aiming to get it done in a term of Enrich. I hope my Mum and Dad like it and I hope it looks really good.
Bye,
Anna.

Queens Park.

                           Hello everyone!
Today at Enrich was a very fun but tiring day. We went on a field trip around town to look at patterns. Patterns is the subject for one of our cornerstones, Concept Curriculum. So we got into three groups chosen by Katie and in the group we were in we got into pairs. I paired up with Rhea. Rhea, Travis, Bruno, Ali, Grace, Brianna, Emily and I were in the big group together. We got a clipboard with a piece of paper. On the piece of paper was four columns. in one column there was beauty, order, strength and survivability. We also got a camera for our pair. We were looking for patterns in our local environment and here are some photos to prove it.

Hello everyone!
Today at enrich was a gaming day! We started off in the morning doing drama. We played some really fun games! The games we played were: Musical Bumps, Colour Line, Fortunately/Unfortunately and One Word Stories. I will explain to you how to play colour line.

You will need:
At least 5 or 6 players
Post-it notes
Pen
Audience
To have fun!!!

How to play: You must write down a colour on each post-it note and put one on each of the players backs.
Then the players must say clearly their colour on their back once.
Then the audience closes their eyes and the players jumble around places. The audience then guesses the sequence of the colours. If they get it right, they get added to the colour line. Obviously it gets harder and harder.

That's all for now. Bye,
Anna.

Caine's Arcade

Hi everyone!!
Today Enrich was action packed with fun! Straight away, we started with a video of giftedness and of determination. There is a boy in L.A called Caine and he is a gifted person who always tries his best and will never give up on anything. I reckon (one) of his strengths is probably creativity because of this video. When Caine was about 8 or 9 he said to his father "I want to make a arcade". Caine's Dad must of thought "No way." But his Dad gave him some cardboard boxes and Caine would've thought "Yes! Thank-you Dad!" And this is how he became famous. First of all he got a claw and a piece of yarn and attached both of them together. Then he made a hole in the box and put some prizes in it and that's how he is my favourite person in the world. I LOVE his creativity. He made 6 or 7 games and they look amazing. A guy came out just to change his door handle at Caine's Dad's auto-parts shop. While he was in there he saw Caine's masterpiece. He asked how much it was to play per game. It was a one dollar for 5 games but if you got a fun pass for 2 dollars you got to play up to 500 games!!!!! All Caine wanted was two dollars and for people to enjoy his arcade! His father took him out to a pizza place for lunch and Caine got to explore some real arcade games. On the way home his father asked him  if he wanted to close down early since he wasn't getting any customers. And guess what he said. "No chance." That's the determination he has. His father planned a surprise earlier with the man that was Caine's first customer. Lots of people made banners and came to his arcade! This man Caine's first customer) got all those people by advertising Caine's Arcade on the Internet and making a Facebook page! When Caine came back he saw all of the people (and there were HEAPS of them), he smiled with joy. Here is the link to watch this fabulous and inspiring video:

Wilson Game

Hello Everyone!!!
Today at enrich we had a blast!!! We started off with a Wilson game. It is the hoop game. These is the instructions to play:

You will need:

  • 3 people in a team (had a mix of boys and girls)
  • 1 hoop about 3, 3and a half metres away.
  • a line/place you are going to start.
  • 1 clapper/referee
Rules:

  • When the referee says jump and claps at the same time you have to jump towards the hoop.
  • The referee will trick you- He might say ready, set, jump! without clapping and if you fall for it then you have to start again.
  • The three players must be in a circle, holding hands.
Aim: Be the first team to all be in the hoop without anyone from the team with their foot touching the hoop or with their feet apart (feet must be together at all times).

I hope you enjoyed my blog post today!! Thanks for reading it!!

Patterns

Hi everyone!!!
Today at enrich we found out what our concept curriculum is. It is patterns. We got into groups of three and discussed what patterns are. We got all our ideas together and someone wrote it down. My ideas were: Group of shapes, there can be all different types of patterns eg. Kowhaiwhai panels which are a pattern that tell a story. It was really really fun! I can't wait to see what else we are going to do later on in this year!!!
BYE!!
